Noggin & Natter

February 20-21, 2010

Silverdale Beach Hotel

The weather was the star for the whole Noggin 'n' Natter weekend! Unlike some very snowy getaways in February, we had sunshine and mild temps for the whole event. The Silverdale Beach Hotel also outdid themselves, with waterfront rooms for all, delicious breakfasts and discount coupons for other meals. Our group gathered for Friday dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Saturday morning we caravaned north to Poulsbo where we browsed the shops, strolled along the waterfront park and enjoyed lunch at various restaurants. After lunch there was more time for browsing and strolling. Some folks returned to the hotel to relax, others took in a local quilt show at the nearby fairgrounds. For dinner, we toured south to the Bremerton Elks where we enjoyed a delicious dinner, followed by an evening of live music for our listening and dancing pleasure. Special thanks to Phil Gainey for providing the wine for our Saturday dinner! Sunday morning we said our fond farewells after another great breakfast at the hotel. Driving their MGs were Dave and Liz DuBois (TD), Alex Waugh and friend (TF), with MGAs driven by Guy and Carita Boswell and Paul and Joan Good. With the beautiful weather came many sighs of regret from those who opted to leave their MG at home. Next time?
