Mulled Wine & Minced Pie Tour

January 1 saw the 3rd Annual Mulled Wine and Mince Pie Tour. There was a very good turnout with at least 12 competitors driving an MG! There were more clues than last year to be collected along the route, and 3 teams tied for first place showing the organizers that they had either made it too easy or else everyone is cleverer than they thought! A tie-breaker had to be run where competitors were judged on their answers to MG-related questions.

The eventual winners of a bottle of champagne were Ted and Patrice Linde. A special prize was also awarded to Steve Hanegan who brought along his beautiful MG ZB Magnette that he has just finished restoring. Everyone agreed what a nice job he had done and it was greatly admired.

After the run a pot-luck buffet was enjoyed by everyone. Everyone brought loads of food, not all of which made it onto the table (you didn’t eat enough!!), so if anyone would like the container that they brought returned to them please let Sara know so she can bring it to the Noggin’ and Natter. Paul and Sara will be running another event next year, so mark up your diaries now for 1 January 2008!!

Luncheon at the Elks in Tacoma

The January 20, 2007 meeting of the Northwest MG T Register was a lunch held at the Tacoma Elks.  Ron and Donna Thompson presented retiring Editor, Liz DuBois, with a Hummel figure in appreciation of her work over the past 30 years.  When Ron turned the meeting over to our new President, Pat Garrett, she asked Dave DuBois to present Ron Thompson with a commemorative clock in appreciation for serving as president over the past two years.

Treasurer Stephanie Kampas distributed the year-end financial reports and noted that the books are being audited.

Joan Good discussed next month’s Noggin ‘n’ Natter and answered questions regarding motel reservations as well as activities planned for the weekend.

Susan and Joe Colombo reported that the new web site is up and running.  Passwords will go out next week so members can access the “members’ only” area.  Sara Barrow will send out info about a week after the meeting, updating members on coming events.

Eleanor Huffines reported that the 36th Anniversary Meeting will be held at Joseppi’s in Tacoma with the social hour at 4 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m.

Members introduced themselves.  MGs driven were by Bob and Stephanie Kampas (MGB GT) and Dave and Liz DuBois (MGB).
