June 20th

Our recent spotty and rainy weather cleared just long enough to not interfere with the drive around Cougar and Squak mountains, and the picnic at Ed and Jean Monell's home afterward.  Many of the participants seemed surprised that there was so much open country along with stunning views within easy range of Bellevue.  Dave and Liz DuBois and Ed and Jean Monell drove their TD's, Alex Waugh and Jim and Jan Rothwell drove their TF's, Guy and Carita Boswell their MGA, and Bob and Stephanie Kampas, Larry Helser, and Doug and Carey Murray drove MGB's.

"Not only did Jean and Ed Monell pick a perfect day for an MG drive, they put together a fantastic route. We toured wonderfully curving country roads, saw fabulous homes, lush farms, forests, and some absolutely breathtaking views of both Bellevue and Seattle. The weather was ideal, neither too hot nor chilly...and no rain! The drive was followed by lunch. Jean and Ed provided the sandwich makings and the rest of use brought salads or desserts". - Liz DuBois
