May Drive & BBQ Potluck

Angle Lake

The weather was  unsettled, alternating between sun and clouds, with a couple of sprinkles thrown in, but the 29 adults and two children attending still had an excellent time driving and socializing at the May 19 Angle Lake tour and barbecue.  Jean McGarah had planned a 20 mile loop drive, from her house on Angle Lake in SeaTac  northwest to the shore of Puget Sound around Three Tree Point, then south through Burien into Normandy Park, also hugging the shore, and  further south into the Des Moines  Marina.  After a short rest stop, the group, led by Paul and Joan Good in their MGTF, headed north through Des Moines and back to Jean's house.   The views of shoreline and homes, many surrounded by rhododendrons in full bloom, were quite spectacular.   Following the drive, everyone enjoyed the potluck picnic and sparerib-chicken barbecue at her Angle Lake home.  Wayne Duncan provided a special treat by bringing and sailing his large radio-controlled sloop model off her beach, and the Olson's grandson and Jean's granddaughter amused the adults with their antics and valient efforts to catch a fish.   MGTs were driven by the Goods,  Jean and Ed Monell. Ben and Laura  Prince, Rob and Pat Garrett, and Mary McCarthy with friend Dan, and B's by Liz and Dave DuBois, and Ed and Mavis Scholtz.
